The Bestest Covenant

Sunday, 09/03/2017

Salvation history has always been an interesting series of events marked by differing covenants specifically given to answer our dilemma of that time.  God’s covenant with Noah answered man’s fear of God’s wrath against all humanity.  God’s covenant with Abraham demonstrated that God was choosing a people for Himself.  And yet, these covenants never achieved the permanence that we needed…enter into the bestest covenant.

Luke 22:7-13

The Last Supper

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”

“Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.

10 He replied, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, 11 and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”

13 They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
